Re-Stickable Foam Tape for Wall Art–Best practices

The most important factor for a re-stickable, repositionable tape used for art on your walls is using a tape that is truly designed to be removable from the surface without causing damage to the surface and is strong enough to hold the object on the wall.

The most popular thickness for wall hanging of art is 1/16″ thick. Using a thicker foam tape may require using more tape to assure the art piece does not fall from the wall, as you start changing the angle of the force on the tape.

So once you have the right foam tape, here are the best practices to allow the tape to hold for the longest time until you’re ready to remove.

1.

Clean your wall. If you stick the adhesive to a dirty wall, you’re not sticking the tape directly on the wall surface, but on a layer of dirt or grime that will loosen once it sees weight.

Clean with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). This solution doesn’t leave behind residue that other common cleaners have and that interfere with adhesive bonding.

2.

Peel the tape backing off of back off your art print, and gently place it into position on your wall. Doing so will easily allow you to adjust the level, angle, or position of your art piece. Once you have it exactly how you like, press very firmly at the edges of the frame, over the adhesive so it creats a strong bond on the wall.
