3M 9731 adhesive tape features a dual system (differential) adhesive system and is doubled linered. On the clear film side of the liner is the silicone adhesive and on the paper side features a high performance acrylic.
The silicone adhesive solves the problem of tape bonding to hard to stick to surfaces (low surface energy), in particular silicone rubber foam and high density foams. The acrylic adhesive side will typically be bonded to plastics and metals. This adhesive system is popular for use on gasketing applications in various industries. It has exception UV and high temperature protection properties and often used in lighting applications.
